When looking at the statistics of heart issues in women, it can seem dire. The good news is that it’s one of the most ‘reversable’ health problems happening in our modern times.
I love the sentiment, “Ancient Wisdom in Modern Times”. I’m one who loves to ‘mine’ ancient wisdom and bring it into our modern life. We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom.
There’s plenty of wisdom in my #1 Bestselling Book “Reverse Heart Disease Naturally ~ A Woman’s Guide to Not Die Before Your Time”
And, here’s what my publisher said, “I can’t believe how many women ignore the signs of heart disease! Reading this manuscript by #incubatedauthor Laurie Morse was very eye opening!! You’ve got to check it out.”
What I’m learning is that unless a woman hears out of the mouth of her doctor, “You have heart disease!”, she thinks she’s in the clear.
There’s a glaring problem with that. And here it is…
When a woman has the clear signs of heart disease — such as rising inflammation, blood pressure, sugar or cholesterol — there’s not really time to waste. She’s got to reverse those markers to avoid a heart attack or stroke. And some women aren’t aware that these markers are early warning signs. Prevention is vital, with or without family history.
On a personal note, I was this woman a few years ago: my numbers were creeping up and I did exactly what I write about in my book… which reversed everything!
I’m always asking my own heart for ways to talk about this without being an alarmist. I’ve observed in my 30years as a integrative health care provider that prevention is not the forte of the medical system. Disease management is.
So unless someone shows up with a full-blown cardiac event or diabetes, there isn’t much they can do.
To be fair more and more doctors are talking to their patients about preventing the #1 killer of women which is heart disease, and while the prevention being talked about is helpful, it’s not complete.
Research shows that diet and exercise alone is not enough to facilitate coronary disease reversal.
While cardiology has enjoyed excellent medical success over the last 100 years (stents, pacemakers, defibrillators, bypass surgeries, and transplants) it is approaching the limits of what can be done.
All that, and the disease is still on the rise. What is that about?
More cardiologists are saying that a new paradigm is needed. One that includes the spiritual, psychological (i.e. mental/emotional) and social factors at the front and center of treating the heart.
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve observed this for 30 years. When a person only tends to the physical in their healing, it is limited. When they tend to the physical, spiritual, and emotional, true healing occurs. Deep healing with lasting impact.
This is the kind of heart health attention that’s current and urgent.
There cannot be peace in the world, unless there is peace in the hearts of the people.
What if we are being called individually and collectively to heal our hearts?
What if the hardening of our arteries, the weakening of our heart muscles, the tension and pressure in our vessels are intelligent messages from the wisdom of our hearts? Ancient wisdom available to mined to use now, in our modern life?
These are the questions I had to ask myself when facing the ticking up of heart markers. These are the questions I ask every woman who is facing early warning signs.
Early warnings signs are messages of intelligence from our body. Probably wise to stop pressing the snooze button.
Most women don’t wish to die before it’s time. “As long as I’m healthy!” she says, and I couldn’t agree more. When heart markers like inflammation, cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose begin ticking up, that’s the time to begin preventing a heart attack or stroke.
I don’t know anyone who has extra time, money, or energy to keep the problem of a ticking time bomb in her heart. There’s no wisdom in putting this off because there’s no time to waste in preventing an unnecessary death or a heart event.
