One of the most natural things to do in Spring is a cleanse. If we’ve been together for years, you know I suggest this every year.
We clean the inside of our cars, homes, refrigerators, and yet many people have never cleaned the inside of their body. Cleansing is important for the following reasons:
- Gives the digestive system a break
- It’s a pattern interrupt for the heavier eating of winter (think of that stick, murky, heavy feeling you might notice in your mind and/or body)
- Alkalizing the blood and tissue is a must to mange pH balance, inflammation and pain
- Deep cellular nutrition improves with cleansing which is a crux for health
- Removes toxins
- Supports better immune, hormone, brain/neurotransmitter function
- Increases energy production and levels
- Clears the mind
- Assists in shedding extra weight and supporting metabolism
- Better skin and hair
- Can soften emotional intensity
Bottom line is eating clean for a period of time is a requirement for good health.
There are many, many ways to cleanse. I’ve been cleansing at least once a year for about 40 hears and I’ve tried a variety. I just finished one from the book Cleanse to Heal (link below) and while it’s the best cleanse I know of it’s quite labor intensive. If that’s a barrier to entry, choose an easier option.
Let me offer a few options with links (I have no financial affiliation with any of these), I only recommend ones I’ve personally done and know to be of good quality. If you know of one and prefer that…do it! The goal is to do a cleanse this Spring and that will go a long way in improving your health. Now to the cleanse options:
Arise and Shine has been around for decades with good clean products and an effective cleansing outcome. This one includes a bentonite clay product that pulls old food from your intestinal walls, you can read and all that including the reviews on their website: Arise and Shine 14 day cleanse
The Pure Trim cleanse is good for a short cleaner eating option, it has only mild cleansing action but anytime we rein things in and eat a lot of vegetables, there will be some cleansing action. This may be easier if your life is really busy: Pure Trim 10 Day (weight loss)
The renew life is the least expensive, is also fairly mild, but has proven to be good over the years. This might be a good choice if you’ve never done a cleanse before: Renew Life Cleanse
This book is fantastic to learn about the how’s and why’s of cleansing. It’s packed with really good information. When I’m doing a harder cleanse I like to read and re-read why I’m doing it to stay motivated. The 9 Day Cleanse I just finished can be found in this book. Even the first 3 days of the 9 day cleanse would be a great way to start. Then you can build up from there. If you like to read about health and how to become healthier this is a book worth having on your shelf. I recommend it in hardcopy because there’s too much info you’ll want to reference back and forth to have it on an e-reader (IMHO): Cleanse to Heal Book
If you want to increase the efficacy of any cleanse you do, think about having an acupuncture session to support lymph, metabolism, and cleansing function.
It’s all good, you can’t go wrong, read about your options and choose the one that best fits for you now. The main thing is to pick something and do your best. You’ll be better off for it!
Enjoy the Spring Blooms!
To Your Health,
