Women and Health

Let’s call it…A fair number of women over forty who have health issues face a unique set of challenges. As we age, we may experience any number of health issues.  The biggies… menopause, pain, sleep issues, osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

These things can put a major cramp in our lifestyle and can have a significant impact on the quality of our days.

If you are a woman over forty with health issues, it can seem daunting to figure out how to actually be healthy, but it doesn’t have to be.

Health is our natural state, disease is not. We’re on information overload so advice and messages get all scrambled up making it difficult to determine what the best recipe is. For you, not for the next gal, but for you.

After your primary healthcare provider rules out anything that needs medical attention, you need a personalized plan that cultivates a higher level of health. This may include lifestyle changes such as nutrition, hormonal support, movement, a stress reduction practice, and regular check-ins.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is particularly important for women in the second half of life, in fact, it’s not optional. Regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and stress management techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, or yoga can help manage symptoms, aid sleep, lower inflammation, and improve overall health.

It is also important to stay up to date on recommended screenings for breast, cervical, and colon cancer, as well as bone density tests to check your bone health.

Finally, connecting with supportive people who are inspired to elevate their health, energy, and vitality can be imperative for most women. Access to the right resources can provide emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of community in order to stay the course.

What’s working for you and what isn’t? I’d love to hear…
