Honoring Life

Did you know that every part of Life is Sacred? All of nature, you and I being an extension of nature, included.
Choices that humans make don’t always represent the Sacred, we can probably all agree. Yet, the Life Force being used destructively, or constructively is nonetheless Sacred.
Here’s my favorite part…you and I are allowed to consecrate (which means to make Sacred) any part of life. Not only allowed, but it’s part of our purpose as conscious human beings.
When we consecrate any part of Life, we are most certainly honoring Life. We are acknowledging reverence for Life.
Every time you do that, it’s a gift to every other human being and to Life itself. So it matters. A lot.
Sometimes, on time-marking occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, or events, people put together montages of the decades prior. It’s a way to celebrate and honor what has unfolded for a person, couple, or group. It used to be film strips or slides (am I dating myself) now it’s digital, either way, it’s moments captured, connections shared, successes acknowledged, and love exchanged.
There’s a piece of a film strip in the above art piece that represents honoring Life in that montage way. Maybe you look at photos on your phone (who among us doesn’t :), or maybe you journal to mark moments? Either way, celebrating and honoring Life, the good, bad, and beautiful, is a way of claiming it as Sacred.
